See what it was like back in 1968 - 1970 at Green Valley Raceway through this remarkable set of films shot by Jim Forte with his Super 8 camera.  Jim captured moments from several SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) Polar Grand Prix and Sunburn Grand Prix races which took place in Smithfield (now North Richland Hills).

Jim says, "I graduated from McKinney High School in 1968, and then went to Texas A&M. I had an interest in cars from my teen years, but when everyone else was into drag racing, I became attracted to sports cars. Can’t remember how I learned about Green Valley, but did my best to get over there whenever the SCCA was there. Once I left A&M, over the years I actually owned and raced three different cars up until the mid 90’s. Never got to race at Green Valley though." Jim recently retired and resides with his wife Diane in Hillsboro, Texas.

Thank you, Jim, for sharing your films with GVR fans.
